This poem has no title, but here it goes.....
I saw u today, u looked into my eyes
U said u loved me, to my surprise
But I found in your heart, I'm not the only one
But it feels good, my soul you've won
You've taken it
Twisted it
Tossed it away
Made me cry, then made my day
The words emit from your glorious lips
Sends chills down my spine
My heart
My rhymes are dedicated to u
While she caters to u
When u cater to me my soul feels free
My soul is alive
Those deep brown eyes
I can't say goodbye to, no matter how hard I try

Songs of the week
I am a r&b singer/ songwriter, and I am highly interested in music of that same genre. These are just a few songs that I have had on repeat for the past week:
Don't Judge Me - Chris Brown
I just want to take you there
He don't got to go nowhere
Does he touch you here like this
Let me take the friction from your lips
And I'mma love you girl, the way you need
Ain't no one gon' stop us, ain't no one gon'stop us
And I'mma give you girl, what you feel
I'm the drug in your veins, just fight through the pain
He's what you want, he's what you want
He's what you want, he's what you want
I'm what you need, what you need, what you need
I'm what you need, what you need, what you need
He's what you want, he's what you want
He's what you want, he's what you want
I'm what you need, what you need, what you need
I'm what you need, what you need, what you need
I got everything you want from me
I do everything he does times three
And he don't gotta knowI got you on the floor, doing things you never thought you'd do
Baby leave them high heel shoes
'Cause I'm loving the way you looking down at me, I'm looking up at you
And I don't give a - shorty watch me knock your boots up
d I'mma love you girl, the way you need
Ain't no one gon' stop us, ain't no one gon'stop us
And I'mma give you girl, what you feel
I'm the drug in your veins, just fight through the pain
He's what you want, he's what you want
He's what you want, he's what you want
I'm what you need, what you need, what you need

Like a knife- Miguel
Ohhhhh
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Yea
[Verse 1]
How do I tell you I've found somebody else
When you love me even more than you love yourself?
How do I break it to you without breaking your heart?
I know it's gonna tear you apart and I can't do that so I keep sneaking and cover all clues.
Keepin it secret to keep it from you.
[Chorus]
But it's like a knife cutting right through to my heart.
Knowing when I'm there in her arms how much it would hurt you and that's what's killin me.
And I hate the lies but I don't know what else I can do.
The lies are much more kind than the truthAnd I don't wanna hurt you.
[Verse 2]
How do I tell you I don't feel the same no more?
What I feel for someone else is what I've never felt before.
How do I break it to you without makin you cry?
I couldn't put one tear in your eyes.
No I can't do that.
So I keep sneakin won't let nothin show.
Keepin it secret so you'll never know.
[Chorus]
[Bridge]
I can't bare to break the heart that loves me.
That is somethin I can't do so I'll just keep keepin it from you ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh....
[Chorus]
How do I tell you I've found somebody else?

Don't Judge Me - Chris Brown
[Verse 1:]I don't wanna go there
we should never go there
Why you wanna go there?
I guess I gotta go there
[Pre-Hook:]You're hearing rumours about me
And you can't stomach the thought
Of someone touching my body
When you're so close to my heart
I won't deny what they saying
Because most of it is true
But it was all before I fell for you
[Hook:]So please babe
So please don't judge meAnd I won't judge you
Cause it could get ugly
Before it gets beautiful
Please don't judge me
And I won't judge you
And if you love me
Then let it be beautiful
Let it be beautifu-u-ul, let it be beautiful
Let it be beautifu-u-ul, let it be beautiful
[Verse 2:]Everything I say right now
Is gonna be used in another fight
And I've been through this so many times
Can we change the subject?
You gonna start asking me questions like:
"Was she attractive? Was she an actress?"Baby the fact is
[Pre-Hook:]You're hearing rumours about me
And saw some pictures online
Saying they got you so angry
Making you wish you were blind
Before we start talking crazy
Saying some things we'll regret
Can we just slow it down and press reset You're beautiful
[Hook:]So, baby
So please don't judge me

1984 Movie
If you wish to view 1984 the movie yourself, you can simply click here to view it on YouTube
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ouUpXMae6Hs◄
The book 1984 by George Orwell may have presented many good themes and lessons, but the only chapters in the book that i was truly intrigued by were those in part three, where Winston and Julia were finally caught. Profanity was also used in the movie. The had a lot of confusing language, and I often had to reread certain parts to even partly understand its meaning. The novel took a while to actually start, and I often felt like quitting. I also had to use different resources like Spark notes to get the full understanding of certain parts of the novel. I would not recommend this novel to anyone, especially if the person is a child. This is definitely a senior-college level reading book. I am one that really enjoys reading, but this is one book that will not make it to my bookshelf.
The movie 1984 is rated R, and is not suitable for children by any means. It shows many scenes of the war that was going on at the time in which the book was set in, and it also showed the parts where Winston and Julia were having intercourse. The movie also doesn't show technology in the way i believed it would be. I believed that the technology that was used in the movie would look like the Jetsons so to speak, and different little parts in the movie like how the two minute hate assemblies, I believed that there would be more narration about what Winston was thinking (since that is what the book is centered around) and just the total outlook of the movie was a lot different from what I expected. One thing i do appreciate though is the general dreariness of the movie. It was very dark and colorless. The people looked very depressed and lifeless, which is exactly how they were portrayed in the book.
Another aspect of the movie is that it added a lot of parts, and it also skipped over alot of parts. The movie went straight to focusing on when Winston began to have thoughts of betraying the party, and then into his admiration of Julia. It didnt even go into detail about how much he hated her, and hoe he dreamed about her before meeting her. The movie also put different scenes before scenes that came far after it. For instance, Winston visited the parsons house befor meeting Julia.
All in all, the movie was as dreadfull as the way it was portrayed. I feel as if the movie could have been scripted much better, and that the setting of the movie could have been much better. This movie, like the book, doesn't come close to being one of my favorites.

reflection
Reflection of 1984
1984 is a timeless classic written by
George Orwell. Some may think that through this novel, Orwell is expressing his
fantasies of what will come in the future. Is this the sole message that Orwell
wanted to present, or did Orwell even intend for this to be thought? What
exactly did Orwell want his readers to think?
1984 contains much more than aimless
thoughts, but actually holds many lessons about the psychological,
technological, physical, and social dangers of entering into a dystopian government, and the
importance of language in shaping human thought. I am a strong believer that Orwell made this
book to warn everyone that would be living around 1984 and years to come that the all governments have a
big chance of turning into a totalitarian government. Some aspects of the
dystopia described in the novel appeared in Orwell’s time, and continues to
appear even now. For instance, certain governments like China and North Korea
hide information from their populace. They refuse to let them view certain
things as search engines like Google and Bing, and they erase certain parts of
their history by refusing to let the public know what has happened before. Many
in this world also overuse their power to oppress others. If things such as
what I have brought out escalate, this whole entire world could turn into a
dystopia. Orwell definitely had a lot on his mind when he wrote this novel.
Another aspect in Orwell’s novel it the truthfulness that
it conveys. Orwell did not make this book a happy ending fairytale-like book.
Orwell could have said that Winston and Julia (the main characters) defeated
the party and continued to live the way they were before. Instead, they ended
up not even wanting to look at each other, and were in full subjection to the
party. The way that Orwell ended this book reminds me of my life in general.
Life in itself takes you around many twists and turns, especially when you are
growing up. Through the many events that I have lived through, even the happy
ones, I am still searching for a happy ending. This is why I appreciate that
Orwell “kept it real” so to speak, and brought to light a true ending instead
of the fairytale ending that everyone is used to.
In conclusion, in the novel 1984, Orwell wanted to portray what this worlds governments may be
turning in to, a full blown dystopia. Orwell also wanted to make this novel as
realistic as possible, making sure not to leave out any gaps, and not creating
a typical mythical ending.
About Me
For most of this blog, I've been talking about 1984 by George Orwell. In this post, I'm talking all about myself, and what i am interested in.
First off, im a r&b singer/songwriter and i am very into music!
Some of my favorite artists are The Weeknd, Maxwell, Chris Brown, Robin Thicke, John Legend, and many others, and i get a lot of inspiration from them. I spend quite a bit of my time just writing music about how i feel or different events that have happened in my life. I also enjoy writing many different forms of poetry. I'm also taking chorus classes at my school, so i get to sing during the school day without being reprimanded!!!!
Aside from music, I also draw. My forte is cartoons, such as anime or cartoons you see in the newspaper or on T.V., but I can also draw realistic things, such as houshold items, animals, and even humans. It takes awhile to get every single line perfect, but it eventually gets there. I have been drawing ever since I can remember, and I continue to do so whenever I have time, or when I get Bored.
Other than music and art, i also really love fashion. I'm higly interested in european style clothing, and I am always searching for new fashion trends either through the internet, or through magazines. One of my favorite stores is Forever 21. Thier clothes fit my haapy, girly personality, and the exact way that i want to dress.I also really enjoy making clothes and designing clothes. Over the summer, I received my first sewing machine, and I have been sewing ever since. I have made a lot of hairbows for myself, and I have sold quite a few to girls I go to school with.
These are just a few things that I enjoy doing, but my very complex personality keeps me interested in many different things, and I will never be bored for long!!

No Heroes
There
Are No Heroes
1984 by George
Orwell is a famous literary work written in 1944 to show how Orwell imagined
1984 would be. This novel introduces multiple themes such as the dangers of
totalitarianism, physical control, control of history and information, mind
control languages, and psychological manipulation. 1984 is also filled with many quotes that have underlying meanings.
For example, taken from the last paragraph of part three chapter one, it
states, “In the face of pain there are no heroes, no heroes…” What specifically
is a hero, and how does that definition relate to the book and society? What,
exactly, does this excerpt indicate? Both of these questions will be answered
in the latter paragraphs.
As asked in the previous paragraph, what is a hero? As
said by dictionary.com, a hero is a man of distinguished courage or ability,
admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. It also brings out that a hero
is someone that has performed a heroic act, such as saving a drowning child.
The Merriam-Webster dictionary states also that a hero is an illustrious
warrior, one that shows great courage and has noble qualities. A hero in modern
times could be anyone from doctor, an upstanding citizen, a foster parent, or
even Superman. Hence, how does this understanding of a hero apply to the text?
Including the
meaning of a hero, what does the quote from the text imply? After reading the
surrounding text, it shows that Winston had had his elbow smashed by a guard
with a truncheon in his hand. After being struck with such pain, Winston then
said that pain has no hero. Winston says this because after being hit with such
a great increase of pain, no great hero like Superman, Batman, a mere doctor,
policeman, or an upstanding citizen can instantly take away this pain, or erase
the memory of this pain. Therefore, pain is one thing that no one can be saved
from, no matter how great the person’s power is.
In conclusion, the novel 1984 holds many themes and quotes. Each theme and quote holds true
for the American society that has been created today, and teaches valuable
lessons. For example, the quote that was brought out in the preceding paragraphs explained that when faced with
pain, no one and nothing can save you. This quote also explains that even
heroes that seem to be perfect aren’t, because they cannot deliver a human from
great pangs and distress.
The Greatest Fear
The
Greatest Fear
In the final chapters of 1984 by George Orwell, it goes into detail what Winston experienced
after being captured and sent to the Ministry of Love. In chapter five, Winston
is taken to room 101, the most dreadful room, to be tortured after screaming
out Julia’s name multiple times. In this room, O’Brien presents Winston with
his worst nightmare- a cage full of enormous rats. O’Brien had threatened
Winston by saying that he would let these rats devour Winston’s face. When the
ravenous beasts were just inches away from his face, Winston broke emotionally and
screamed that Julia should receive this torment instead of him. Winston had
betrayed the women whom he had grown to love because of his great fear.
After reading chapter five, it caused me to think of the
fears I have. Even though I have a vast hatred for repulsive, filthy things
such as rats, mice, spiders, roaches and things of that nature, I believe that
my greatest fear would be being subject to grotesque torture. For example, I do
not believe I would be able to handle being put in an electric chair, being
skinned alive, being decapitated slowly, being dismembered, set on fire, etc.
All of these things are ways to harm someone slowly so that they will suffer to
the greatest degree before dying. All of these things are very inhumane, and I
believe that if I was faced with this, I just might break physically and
mentally. If someone told me that I would have to betray those that I love or
denounce my religion, I believe that I would hold out for as long as I could,
but I seriously do not know what I would do, because I have never been faced
with this situation. All in all, this is my greatest fear.
In conclusion, I do not sympathize with Winston seeing
that he is not a real human being, but I do understand why he eventually broke.
Human beings can only take so much. Every single person has a fear and a breaking
point, no matter whether they are an “average Joe”, or a part of a militia. I
do sympathize with those that have been subject to such monstrous persecution,
especially if they have done nothing wrong. I can’t wait for the day, as
described in Isaiah 65:17, where things such as persecution “will not be called
to mind, neither will they come up into the heart”.
Breaking Point
The
Breaking Point
In
book two chapter ten of George Orwell’s 1984,
Julia and Winston had been captured and imprisoned after months of blatantly
acting out against Oceania’s government in the form of sexual intimacy. In book
three chapters 1-3, it explains how both of them had been sent to jail in the
Ministry of Love, it describes the conditions of the jail, how Winston has been
treated, and it began to go into detail about how Winston was being tortured. A
human being can only take things such as pain, distress or persecution for so
long, and Winston finally broke down after being exposed to a rat. He had been
beaten, had his limbs broken, and had even been starved almost to death, but
what made him break was a rat. Rats are evidently not the only breaking points,
seeing that everyone’s limit is different, especially depending on the
situation. I have not had many situations in my life in which I ultimately
broke down, but the few that I have had have taught me a valuable lesson about
myself.
To
give an example of when I have broken down, about a year ago I unfortunately
had spread confidential information to a couple of friends, without realizing
what I was doing. When I was first confronted by a family member about what I
had done, I did not yet have a full understanding. But, later on, I realized
that I in fact I had severely hurt my family, and that many were extremely
disappointed in me. After coming to this conclusion, I broke down and cried.
Just knowing that my whole intimate and extended family were disappointed and
angry with me tore my soul into pieces. Knowing this was ultimately worse than
any beating (which was carried out for disciplinary purposes) that I had ever
had. I was embarrassed, hurt, upset, among other things. I just cannot take
knowing that others are dissatisfied of me. This is not my only breaking point,
for this particular verge of collapse doesn’t necessarily cover a multitude of
situations. I am still very young, and I do not know exactly what my other
breaking points are, but I do know that every human being has at least one,
because everyone can only take so much.

Chapter Nine Analysis
In
the beginning of part two chapter nine, Winston speaks of how a speaker at one
of the hate week rallies had switched enemies in the middle of his speech.
After doing so, the populace instantly began to blame Goldstein for supposedly
misleading them. This incident shows just how naïve the common people living in
this dystopia are. They didn’t ask any questions, and quickly blamed all of
their problems on a man that probably had nothing to do with who Oceania is at
war with. This particular incident reminds me of how sometimes it is very easy
to alter the minds of others.
Sometimes
it is very easy to make someone believe something that may not be true,
especially if it is told to them multiple times. For instance, if you tell a
fellow classmate that there was an essay for homework and you continue to talk
about it, they will believe you. Also, the ancient myth of Santa Claus has for
years been pushed into the minds of little kids. The more their parents talk
about it, the more they believe in him. Even though these examples aren’t
nearly as important as the many lies that have been told to those living in the
dystopia that Winston lives in, it still shows how it is possible for humans’
minds to be altered, and this may be happening in the world that we live in
now.
Irony and 1984
Irony and 1984
1984 by George
Orwell is an eloquent novel that was written in 1949 as an exaggeration of the
future. This novel focuses on a man named Winston, who is living in the year
1984, under a dystopian government run by a man named Big Brother. This
government is not in any way perfect and in fact, many things that they have
done and that Winston has done are very ironic. For instance, the slogans that the
party made and the way Winston views a certain girl that works with him is very
paradoxical, which will be discussed in this composition.
Irony, in part, is the expression
of words to convey a meaning that is opposite of its literal meaning. For
example, when someone really does not appreciate what you have said or done,
they may say, “Thanks a lot”. In accordance with the book, the party created three
different slogans in which they base their whole lifestyle on which are: WAR IS
PEACE, FREEDOM IS SLAVERY and IGNORANCE IS
STRENGTH. In a literal sense, these slogans make no sense at all. Each saying contradicts
itself. But, in fact, the party created these slogans because this is exactly
how they have decided to manage their populace and keep them from knowing what
goes on “behind the scenes” so to speak.
Another big form of irony is the way
Winston views a girl with dark hair that works in the same building as him.
Winston speaks of how much he hates and despises her because of how politically
active she is, but he has had dreams about her. He envisions her tearing off
her clothes in front of him and he feels that this gesture is splendid. This is
very paradoxical because it seems as though Winston doesn’t actually hate the
girl, he hates that he cannot be with her.
In conclusion, irony is an
expression of words that do not take their literal meaning and this expression
of words has been used frequently in the novel 1984 by George Orwell. Two
examples that are very paradox are the slogans produced by the party, and the
way Winston views a dark haired girl.
